Trying a new coffee
Choose one unfamiliar coffee. Brew it once using the roaster’s recommended recipe. On your next cup, slow down and notice what changes as it cools. Write down what you notice; it can help you decide what to order next.
A pour-over starting point
If you’re brewing a pour-over, start with 20 grams of coffee and 320 grams of water. Use a medium grind and make one adjustment at a time. Our home-brewing field notes offer a few more starting points.
