Mad Hatter helps you find independent coffee roasters across the United States and order from them directly.

What’s in this collection?

Our first nationwide edition includes 52 specialty coffee roasters, with at least one in each of the 50 states. Some are tiny operations; others have grown into established regional businesses. We research real roasting businesses and their official websites. We do not apply a revenue or employee-size cutoff, and the collection does not represent every U.S. roaster.

How we research

Every listing includes an official website, an official source supporting its location or story, and a research date. We write our own short summaries. City labels may refer to a cafe, headquarters, or roastery; confirm visiting arrangements directly. Information was researched October 17, 2026. Inventory, ownership, locations, and delivery options can change.

How buying works

“Shop direct” takes you to the roaster’s online shop or official homepage. Mad Hatter does not take payment, process orders, or handle returns. Check your delivery address, current prices, and shipping terms on the roaster’s website before purchasing.

Editorial and commercial relationships

There are currently no paid listings or affiliate links in this collection. No listed business is presented as a contracted partner. Our October monthly edit is an unpaid editorial selection. If we introduce paid links or sponsored features, we will identify them where they appear.
